1. Director, Industrial Services and Monitoring (SEG 3) Industry Division
Salary scale $1,350,000 - $1,604,726 a year, plus the allowances attached to the post;
Core Functions:
- Provide policy advice and inputs regarding improved business facilitation and evaluation of existing measures and programmes.
- Comment and advise on investment proposal and/or modernization strategies for the short terms medium and long term development of the small and micro enterprise sectors.
- Reviews legislation governing the productive sector and provide recommendations for reform.
Key Competencies
- Good research and analytical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of government rules and regulations
- Good report writing skills
Required Qualification and Experience
- Post graduate qualification in Management Studies International Relations, Public Sector Administration or any equivalent combination of education and training and,
- 3 - 5 years related experience.
2. Director, Product Facilitation (SEG 3) Tourism Division
Salary scale $1,350,000 - $1,604,726 a year, plus the allowances attached to the post;
Core Functions
- Conduct research and keep updated information on industry trends and best practices in product development and sustainable tourism in particular on environment management and cultural heritage preservation to improve and maintain Jamaica's competitiveness in the tourism industry.
- Develop policies geared towards the enhancement of Jamaica's Tourism Product
- Develop and assist with the implementation of methods and procedures for monitoring Sustainable Tourism Indicators.
- Liaise on an ongoing basis with public and private sector, tourism bodies, CBO's on matters dealing with sustainable tourism development.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of and work experience in the field of Sustainable Development and Natural Resource Management.
- Knowledge of the Tourism Industry and first hand knowledge of the Tourism Product.
- Excellent research and conceptual skills.
- Skills in appraising and evaluating proposals.
- Excellent judgement decision making and problem solving skills.
- Good oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Knowledge or relevant computer systems and application.
Required Qualification and Experience
- Post graduate qualification in Regional Development Planning, Environmental Management/Resource Management, Tourism Planning/Tourism Management or any equivalent combination of education and training.
- A minimum of three years experience in Tourism Policy Planning/Tourism Product Development
3. Director, Corporate Planning (SEG 2)
Salary scale $1, 110,000 - $1,319,441 a year, plus the allowances attached to the post;
Core Functions:
- Guide and advise staff in the development and preparation of Corporate/Operational Plans.
- Monitor budgetary allocations and determine effect on the accomplishment of Operational and Corporate Planning objectives.
- Undertake research and report on matters relating to the subject areas of the Ministry to promote and assist short and long terms planning.
- Design systems for acquiring and recording progress information on projects of the Ministry and its agencies.

- Sound knowledge of government policies and programmes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Committed to meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications
Required Qualification and Experience
- First Degree in Public Administration or Management Studies, or equivalent combination of education and training
- Training in Corporate Planning and Policy Analysis
- 2 - 3 years similar or related area
